Clubs at Hawaii Tokai International College

HTIC students can participate in a variety of established student clubs or they may organize a club of their own with the assistance and approval of the Student Government and a Faculty/Staff Advisor. Students with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 and higher can join clubs and/or make their own club with at least 3 members. The following are some of the current clubs at the College:

Student Government

Students who are passionate about serving and representing the HTIC student body population may run for student government. Elections are held twice a year for the student government positions- President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, or Speaker. The officers will plan and organize special events and gatherings and serve as a "voice" for the students.

Baseball Club

The “Baseball Club” participates in the Oahu Baseball League, with practices held twice weekly and games on weekends. Games can be watched for free and are played at different parks around the island of Oahu. Come and join the T-Wave baseball team for fun and competition!

Kendo Club

Kendo is the ancient martial art of fencing, “the way of the sword.” This new club is looking for members to learn sword techniques and self-discipline. Come experience what kendo is all about!

Music Club

Where can you jam in a band? Create some new tunes? Have a great time making beautiful music with current students, alumni and friends? Music club members have access to the HTIC soundproof practice room for practices or they simply just to get together for “jam sessions” in preparation for their regularly scheduled fall and spring concerts!

Running Club

The purpose of the HTIC running club is to provide the students, faculty, and staff of HTIC with more opportunities to exercise and enjoy physical fitness in the larger community of Honolulu. A secondary purpose is to promote and represent HTIC at races and events. A third purpose of the club is to support local charities and community groups as most races/events are actual fundraisers.

Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society

Membership in the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is awarded to students who have earned a minimum GPA of 3.70 for at least one term and a cumulative 3.0 GPA. Students must have completed at least two terms in the Liberal Arts Program. Inductees will be invited to become a member of the honor society based on academic performance. Induction ceremonies are held twice a year in concurrence with graduation.
